Ethos

In a world of increasingly industrialized food and cannabis, we remain steadfastly dedicated to making beautiful, holistic products with ingredients that are mindfully and ethically sourced. Principles we consider include place of origin, organic certifications, and the size of the producer.

For our cannabis inputs, we exclusively work with the small regenerative farmers who we have been working with for years. We choose to adopt the definition of Sun + Earth to classify “regenerative” farming. This includes: Full sun, plants are planted directly in the earth, ferments and nutrients are made from compost and natural ingredients found on farm, all with the end goal of embracing the concept of regeneration — giving more than is taken away.

We are working on sourcing 100% Sun + Earth certified organic cannabis and have a goal of growing or wildcrafting 75% of our herbal ingredients by the end of 2022.

Farming and Foraging

An early impetus for Cosmic View stemmed from a love of food, plants and family self-resilience. We have always grown our own food and have made our own olive oil for the past 20+ years.

These are principles that we carry with us throughout every step of the manufacturing process — from growing and harvesting our own herbs, raising bees for our honey sweets and ethically foraging local and native plants for new flavors and formulations. This, for us, is the most exciting part of making our medicine and we hope that you feel and taste the difference in our products.

Formulating & Processing

Our co-founder / formulator / resident scientist, Christine Skibola, PhD uses her vast scientific background to produce Cosmic View’s cannabis products aimed at helping individuals with specific health conditions. Each formulation is backed by scientific research on the biological actions of all of our ingredients and their potential synergistic effects. Integrating various herbs and plant-based oils, our products are rooted in traditional herbalism and plant medicine.

Our products are never, ever made with harsh chemicals—we collaborate closely with our cultivators and extractor to use both solventless rosin and a low pressure / low heat subcritical CO2 extraction method that minimizes terpene and valuable phytonutrient loss during the cannabis extraction process. Our extracts are less refined than most on the market, retaining more of the natural polyphenols and chlorophyll from the plant that have antioxidant, anti-cancer and other health promoting benefits.

Cannabis Farm Partners

Moon Made Farms
Palo Verde Appellation, Southern Humboldt County

Moon Made Farms cultivates in alignment with the lunar calendar, using regenerative cultivation methods, and honoring the female expression of the most powerful plant on the planet. Their unique terroir is defined by old growth Oak groves, 2,100 feet up in the Southern Humboldt mountains blessed by natural untreated rainwater, clean coastal-air, and a biodiverse rock and clay dominant soil.

Founder and owner Tina Gordon says "There is a hushed reverence to these mountains, a sense of timelessness in the early morning fog spun through ancient trees, and an enduring peace in the spaces yet held for natural systems, including our own bodies, to operate in the best and most efficient ways possible."

Moon Made Farms is actually as magical as it sounds.

North Country Farm
Hayfork, Trinity County

A beautiful tiny farm in Trinity County, North Country Farm was our very first farm partner and we are so excited to be able to source their beautiful flower once again.

Adrien and Angelina breed their own genetics and practice 100% closed loop farming (using on-farm fertility like compost, mushrooms and plant ferments — never store bought nutrients) and all of their flower is full term. Their genetics have been developed and grown in the natural Trinity County sun and soil for years, and are adapted to hot days and chilly nights — often experiencing a 50 degree swing throughout the day. Their goal is to bring the truest expression of the red clay, mineral-rich water, and blasting sun terroir of their unique mountain valley to their consumers.

Emerald Spirit Botanicals
Willits, Mendocino

Emerald Spirit Botanicals is a diverse Certified Organic farm is tucked away northwest of Willits on a southwest facing slope. Surrounded by a mixed forest canopy of douglas fir, madrone, maple and redwood, their tiny two acre garden is a haven for birds of all kinds including quail, pigmey owls, blue jays and the occasional grouse. Situated on 60 acres, the property is home to a variety of other wildlife including turkey, bats, fox, skunk, deer, squirrel, bear, and rarely the mountain lion even comes to visit. Their on-farm pond from rain cachment is a watering hole that remains available for all the wildlife who call their land home.

Through careful breeding and a spiritual scientific approach to gardening and plant care, this family farm (led by plant medicine breeder extraordinaire and matriarch, Katie Jeane) works to create a healthy and balanced ecosystem for cannabis plants to produce their unique award winning genetics such as Pink Boost Goddess. Pink Boost Goddess won first place at the prestigious Emerald Cup in 2021.
